Basement Carpark Storage Cage Break-ins

We’re aware of the recent basement storage cage break-ins that affected several residents. Individual storage cages are not common property and therefore an owner responsibility, so the OC can’t lodge police reports or make building insurance claims for this incident. If your cage has been broken into, please immediately lodge a police report and then email your police job number to security @ globeonmoore.com. We will attach all job numbers to the CCTV footage that will be provided to police.

If there’s been damage or theft over the excess amount on your home contents insurance policy, residents could lodge their own insurance claim. Alternatively, they could contact their unit owner or property manager. If you’re a renter, your unit owner might also hold landlord insurance that could cover your cage damage and/or theft. It’s worth discussing this with them to enquire further. We have provided the following links to assist with possible contractors that may be able to assist with cage repairs. Note that we don’t recommend any specific contractor.

As a longer-term solution, residents will notice that the EC has started installing new security roller doors on the Globe B1 and B2 carpark ramps. These doors will soon be active and add an extra layer of security to the basement areas to minimise people being able to walk down into the carparks through the Moore St public boom gates when they are open. Additionally, the basement entry areas will be upgraded from chain wire fencing to sold steel bars. The EC aims to complete these upgrades by Christmas.
